How to get involved with the County United Way?

There are several ways to get involved with the County United Way. Listed below are descriptions of two committees that are looking for volunteers.

COMMUNITY RESPONSE COMMITTEE

Purpose

To review the relationship between recognized needs in the community and County United Way allocations to qualified providers and to make recommendations to the Executive Committee to assure that County United Way funds are used to address identified community needs.

To offer an opportunity for County United Way and community service providers to review mutual purposes, responsibilities and obligations; to provide an opportunity to assess an agency's (place in) ongoing or potential value to the community (and the agency's and County United Way; adjustment to changing community conditions); to qualify community service providers who desire an allocation of funds from County United Way; and to make appropriate recommendations to the Executive Committee.

CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE

Purpose

To organize the annual County United Way fund-raising campaign and manage implementation of strategies to raise a maximum amount of contributions to meet the recognized needs of the community.

If you are interested in volunteering for either committee, please contact the County United Way office at 301-722-2700.
