2007 Community Outcomes
“What Matters”
Sometimes when we are asked to contribute
to charity, we may not know how much good we can do.
On behalf of the children, families,
and elderly in Hampshire County, the United Way would like
to thank you for your support.
388 boys and girls receive
mentoring from over 100 adults through the Boy
Scouts of the Potomac Council and
the Boy Scouts of the Shenandoah Council as
well as the Girl Scouts of the Shawnee
Council.
Eastern Regional Family Resource Network provides
Energy Express to 104 children during the
summer. Through this program the children receive breakfast,
lunch and help with their reading skills.
43 victims of domestic and/or
sexual assault received counseling and other related services
from the Family Crisis Center.
Hampshire County Special Services offers
employment to 41 clients with developmental
disabilities.
180 families are helped with
food, clothing, household items, utilities, rent and other
necessities by the Salvation Army.
