2007 Community Outcomes
“What Matters”
Sometimes when we are asked to contribute
to charity, we may not know how much good we can do.
On behalf of the children, families, and elderly in Mineral
County, the United Way would like to thank you for your support.
Associated Charities provides 89 clients with 274 short term
prescription medications.
8 children receive mentoring from 11
Big Brothers or Big Sisters.
Boy Scouts, Big
Brother/Big Sisters and Girls
Scouts provide
436 youth with basic life skills.
20 developmentally disabled adults receive vocational rehabilitation
and supportive employment services through the Developmental
Center & Workshop.
Family Crisis Center provides 147 children with education
and awareness about domestic violence, sexual abuse, dating
violence and date rape.
Piedmont Library serves as a community center for 2,400 individuals.
2,300 individuals will be helped through blood donations to
the Red Cross.
Red Cross will provide assistance to 30-40 individuals when
they are victims of dwelling fires.
The Salvation Army and the United
Charities of Keyser provides
food, clothing, household items, utilities and/or rental assistance
to 650 families.
34–40 children receive a hot meal and help with homework
at the Tri Towns After School Program.
